Description

The Phoenix Geophysics MTC-150 is a ultra-wideband magnetotelluric induction coil sensor designed to measure time-varying components of the Earth’s natural magnetic field for passive electromagnetic sounding applications. The sensor converts magnetic field variations into proportional voltage signals for digitisation by compatible magnetotelluric data acquisition systems. The MTC-150 is typically deployed in orthogonal configurations to record magnetic field components as part of passive magnetotelluric surveys. It is used in crustal and lithospheric imaging, mineral exploration, geothermal investigations, groundwater studies, and tectonic research. This instrument instance forms part of the AuScope - ANSIR: Research Facilities For Earth Sounding and has been deployed in multiple research surveys across Australia.
