| Description | The 2019-2020 Kapunda Audio-Magnetotelluric Survey was a temporary field campaign conducted across the Kapunda region of South Australia to investigate the near-surface electrical resistivity structure in support of the Kapunda In-Situ Copper and Gold Field Recovery Trial. Audio-magnetotelluric measurements were acquired to support integrated geophysical investigations of the Kapunda mineral system, ground water and the local geological framework. The survey was undertaken in two phases, comprising 58 broadband magnetotelluric stations acquired during 2019 and a further 25 stations acquired during 2020, for a total of 83 survey sites distributed across the Kapunda project area. Parallel instrument comparison tests were undertaken during site occupation to assess consistency between acquisition systems. Data were acquired using Phoenix MTU-8A broadband magnetotelluric systems operated by Geoscience Australia together with Phoenix MTU-5C broadband magnetotelluric systems hosted by the University of Adelaide and accessed through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facilities for Earth Sounding. |
