Description

The 2017 Curnamona Province Broadband Magnetotelluric Survey was a temporary field campaign conducted across the Curnamona Province in South Australia and western New South Wales to investigate the electrical conductivity structure of the crust and upper lithosphere. Broadband magnetotelluric measurements were acquired to support studies of regional tectonic architecture, lithospheric structure, fluid pathways, and mineral systems.

The survey was undertaken during August 2017 and comprised 57 broadband magnetotelluric stations, including a continuously recording remote-reference station, deployed over the survey region. Data were acquired using University of Adelaide LEMI-423 broadband magnetotelluric systems accessed through the AuScope -ANSIR Research Facilities for Earth Sounding.

Logistical support for field operations was provided by Havilah Resources, with helicopter access to remote deployment locations provided by Helifarm.
