| Description | The 2022 Vulcan Broadband Magnetotelluric and Passive Seismic Survey was a temporary field campaign conducted across the Vulcan IOCG prospect in South Australia to investigate the electrical resistivity structure of the crust associated with iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) mineralisation. The survey comprised 100 broadband magnetotelluric site deployments, including one continuously recording remote-reference station, arranged on a regular grid with approximately 1 km station spacing across an area of approximately 9 × 9 km. A nodal passive seismic array was deployed concurrently, with seismic stations co-located at the MT sites to support integrated magnetotelluric and passive seismic investigations. Data were acquired using Adelaide University LEMI-423 broadband magnetotelluric systems accessed through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facilities for Earth Sounding. Concurrent passive seismic measurements were acquired using SmartSolo IGU-16HR 3C nodal seismic instrumentation hosted by the Australian National University and accessed through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facilities for Earth Sounding. |

| Credit | Broadband magnetotelluric instrumentation for this survey was hosted by Adelaide University and passive seismic nodal instrumentation was hosted by the Australian National University, with both instrument pools made available through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facilities for Earth Sounding. Data acquisition was jointly funded by the Geological Survey of South Australia and FMG Resources Pty Ltd through Accelerated Discovery Initiative project RD02-260. Daishsat Geodetic Surveyors provided logistical support. |
