| Description | The 2020-2021 Kalkaroo Magnetotelluric Survey was a temporary field campaign conducted across the Kalkaroo Cu-Au deposit and surrounding Kalkaroo magnetic dome within the Curnamona Province, South Australia, to investigate the electrical resistivity structure of the crust associated with mineralisation and regional geological architecture. The survey was undertaken through multiple field campaigns between November 2020 and August 2021 and comprised approximately 230 broadband magnetotelluric stations. A dense grid of approximately 126 stations with nominal spacing of 300 m was deployed across the Kalkaroo Cu-Au deposit, complemented by a broader regional grid of approximately 104 stations with nominal spacing of 1.2 km across the surrounding Kalkaroo magnetic dome. Parallel instrument comparison tests and multiple continuously recording remote-reference stations were incorporated into the survey design to support data quality assessment and processing. Data were acquired using Phoenix MTU-8A ultra-wideband magnetotelluric systems provided by Geoscience Australia together with Phoenix MTU-5C and LEMI-423 broadband magnetotelluric systems hosted by Adelaide University and accessed through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facilities for Earth Sounding. |
